John Martin Elkin 
John Martin was born on January 3rd, 1839 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 John Martin's father was William Melton Elkin and his mother was Lucyann Perlina Davis. His paternal grandparents were Abel Elkin and Polly Skaggs. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Abel, William A., Nancy J., Chesley, Elizabeth and Mary. He had three half-sisters named Bernettie Ermon, Elizabeth and Evline. He died at the age of 74 on December 16th, 1913 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.
