His paternal grandfather was Christopher Durbin and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Brown Parkinson not proven; his maternal grandfather was Edward Ned Logsdon and his maternal grandmother is Mary Polly Brown. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named John Mathis, Edward M, William D, Joseph P Squire Joe, Sylvester J, James, Philip E the Well Digger, Mary, Nancy A, Margaret Peggy and Elizabeth. He died in Sangamon County, Illinois.1 -
