Sarah Jane was born on January 22nd, 1861.1 Sarah Jane's father was Piatt Drake and her mother was Julia Colville Brant. Her paternal grandparents were Noah Drake and Margaret Cole. She had nine brothers and six sisters, named Geogre, Samuel Harvey, Eden, David Brant, Lewis, Sylvester, Edward Randolph, Christoper, Waren, Amanda Adeline, Mary Brant, Eliza Frances, Lucy Ellen, Greenleaf and Unnamed Daughter.
