Orville Gurney Deming 
Orville Gurney was born on October 2nd, 1862.1 Orville Gurney's father was Hubert Vilender Deming and his mother was Susan H. Wigle. His paternal grandfather was Jonathan Deming and his paternal grandmother is Lois Whitney Rogers; his maternal grandparents were Windle Wigle and Hannah Hairsine. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Stark Windle, Eli Rogers, Hubert Vilender, Jr., Grant Wilson, Barton Roy, Claire Claiborne, Lois Hannah, Nora Irene and Mille Eveline. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 52 on November 11th, 1914 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.1 General Notes

Orville G. Deming Orville G. Deming, who retired from the real estate bu
si ness 20 years ago, developed the Carlyon Road allotment in East Clevel
an d. He also was active in developing the section in Cleveland betwe
en E. 10 5th and E. 110th streets around Superior Avenue. Services for M
r. Demin g, who died Saturday at his residence, 1680 Hower Avenue, East Cl
evelan d, were held at 3:30 PM today at the Rinear-Lambert Funeral Home, 1
3136 Eu clid Avenue, East Cleveland. He was 82. Mr. Deming was associat
ed with t wo brothers in the Deming Bros. Co., which was founded in 190
4. He was o ne of the first residents of Carlyon Road. He had been livi
ng with his dau ghters, Verna C. and Mrs. Dorthy Schaefer, since the dea
th of his wife thr ee years ago. Besides his daughters, he is surviv
ed by his brother s, C. C. of Port Clinton, Ohio; Eli of California. Bart
