Robert was born on February 21st, 1872 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Robert's father was Joseph DeSpain and his mother is Sarah Morrison. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William Henry, Joseph Thomas, James R., Marshall, Lewis, George Washington, Elizabeth and Malinda A.. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 75 on March 14th, 1947 in Larue Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
