Peter was born on October 20th, 1875.1 Peter's father was William Marshall DeSpain and his mother is Rachel Cox. His paternal grandfather was John M. DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Lydia Howell. He had nine brothers and eight sisters, named James Simpson, Isaac Newton, William M., George Marshall, Marian Franklin, Jeremiah, Theodore S., Joseph, Ray, Presciellen, Indiabell, Glendora, Rachel, Annie, May, Nellie and Laura Blanch.
