Mary DeSpain 
Mary was born in July 1796 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Mary's father was Peter DeSpain and her mother was Nancy Skaggs. Her paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and her paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; her maternal grandfather was Henry Skaggs and her maternal grandmother is Mary Thompson. She had thirteen brothers and three sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, William Joseph, Thomas, Andrew Drury, Edmund, George Washington, Susanna Elizabeth, Nancy and Lucy Ann.
