John Rice Davidson 
John Rice was born on May 27th, 1838 in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama.1 John Rice's father was Milas Alexander Davidson and his mother was Dovey Robison. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Davidson and Sarah Nesbit. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Clinton, Joseph Oscar, Richard Steele, Robert Quincy, George Spruce, Laura, Dovey Amanda and Baby Daughter. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 24 on November 29th, 1862 in Paradise Valley, Chickasaw Co., Mississippi. He was buried in Pleasant Grove Cem., Shannon, Lee Co., Mississippi.1 1 General Notes
