Clara Elizabeth was born on January 2nd, 1884 in Angelina Co., Texas.1 Clara Elizabeth's father was Thomas A. Cryer and her mother was Ritter Jane Canborn. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Cryer and Martha Unknown; her maternal grandparents were John Canborn and Rittie Unknown. She had four brothers and four sisters, named John L., James O., William J., George, Lucy, Laura E., Mihala and Sarah. She was the third youngest of the nine children.
