Eugene Malcom (Gene) was born on October 31st, 1899 in Ravenna, Fannin Co., Texas.1 Eugene Malcom (Gene)'s father was Henry Lansford Bassham and his mother was Fannie 'Ida' Pettitt. His paternal grandparents were Francis Marion (Frank) Bassham and Louisa Lucretia (Lucy) Popnoe. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jack Foster, Ralph Whitfield, Laudis, Willie Belle, Stella Mae and Mary Alice. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 71 on October 26th, 1971 in Colorado City, Mitchell Co., Texas.1 General Notes
