Earnest Benton (Twin) Bassham 
Earnest Benton (Twin) was born on May 20th, 1918 in Moko, Fulton Co., Arkansas.1 Earnest Benton (Twin)'s father was Cecil Irving Bassham and his mother was Mary Ann Reavis. His paternal grandparents were James Richard Bassham and Louise Josephine (Lou) Rhodes. He had four brothers named Forest Clinton (Twin), Grady Irving, Ella Mae (Twin) and Della Faye (Twin). He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Kenneth Delbert, Tracy Calvin, Living, Living and Living. He died at the age of 73 on July 31st, 1991 in Hardy, Sharp Co., Arkansas.1 General Notes

Benton Bassham, 73, of Hardy, died Wednesday, July 31, in St Bernards M
ed ical Center. He was a former justice of the peace and a director on t
he So il Conservation Board. He was employed as a farmer and a building c
ontrac tor until his retirement as a veteran of World War II. He was a me
mb er of New Hope Baptist Church of Hardy and Masonic Lodge #432.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Rogers Bassham of the home; two son
s, D ale Bassham of Cherokee Village and Russell Bassham of Hardy; one dau
ghte r, Carol Bates of Hardy; two brothers, his twin, Clinton Bassham of S
ale m, and Grady Bassham of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three sisters, Faye Kl
ar of Abi lene, Kans., and Opal Adams and Beulah Anderson, both of St Loui
s, Mo.; a nd six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brother
s, Delbert Ba ssham of Kansas City, Mo., and Tracey Bassham of Moko, and i
nfant twin sis ters.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 3, at the New Hope Baptist Church of Har
dy w ith Revs Lendol Jackson and J C Smith officiating. Burial was in t
he Wir th Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Tri-Coun
ty Funer al Home of Hardy. Donations may be made to the New Hope Baptist C
hurch bui lding fund or the Wilson Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund. Newspap
