Byron Demont (Dee) was born on July 27th, 1904 in Fannin Co., Texas.1 Byron Demont (Dee)'s father was William Palestine (Bill) Bassham and his mother was Ida Mae Vansickle. His paternal grandparents were Francis Marion (Frank) Bassham and Louisa Lucretia (Lucy) Popnoe. He had four brothers and a sister, named Kenneth James, Roscoe Leon, Shelton Cleo (Shelly), William Nelson and Buena Vista. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 66 on April 26th, 1971 in Colorado City, Mitchell Co., Texas.1 General Notes
