Benton Lafayette Bassham 
Benton Lafayette was born on March 12th, 1890 in Tennessee.1 Benton Lafayette's father was Rufus Lycurgus Bassham and his mother was Mattie Louella Harrison. His paternal grandparents were James Monroe, Jr. Bassham and Susan Frances Legg. He had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas Lindsey, Daniel Lee, Grady Lycurgus, Louis Edward, Roy Lynn, Velma Leona and Lilly May. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 77 on August 27th, 1967.1 General Notes
