William Stanley was born on June 1st, 1921 in Ohio Co., Kentucky.1 William Stanley's father was Ira Thomas Basham and his mother was Etta Lee Hedden. His paternal grandparents were Thomas McClellan (Tom) Basham and Laura Belle White. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Laura Francis, Jay T., Ural Thomas, Myrtle (Katherine), Mary Hazel, Georgia Lee, Ira Mae, Living and Living.
