William Elbert Basham 
William Elbert was born on March 13th, 1924 in Butler Co., Kentucky.1 William Elbert's father was Bennie Mayberry Basham and his mother was Ellen Self. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Bartlett (Bartley) Basham and July Ann Johnson. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Ozie L., Ulysses (Ulis), Shula Eveline, Floyd, Emorie, Alta Lee, Gracie and Living. He died at the age of 38 on June 13th, 1962 in East Alton, Madison Co., Illinois.1 General Notes
