William Basham 
William was born on February 26th, 1818 in Virginia.1 William's father was John Basham and his mother was Mary (Polly) Martin. His paternal grandparents were James Basham and Frances (Mary) Taylor. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Nathan, John, Augustus, James, George Washington, Thomas Anderson, Sarah Ann, Rebecca, Maria and Lorinda. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 45 on January 29th, 1864.1 General Notes
