Velmer Basham 
Velmer was born on June 16th, 1914.1 Velmer's father was Samuel 'Green' Basham and his mother was Nancy Jane Allen. His paternal grandparents were Benajah Anderson Basham and Nancy E. Turner. He had two brothers named Morgan Mayberry and Tony Bedford. He had ten half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named William Henry (Evans), Riley Palestine (Tiny), Lonnie Valentine, Edward Calvin, Millard Thomas, James Marion, John Vollie, Samuel Green (Sam), Charles Frank, Living, Mary Isbell, Ellen Paradine, Nellie Caroline, Bennie Jane, Minnie Pearl, Urline B. and Living.
