Thomas Joseph was born on January 17th, 1877 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 Thomas Joseph's father was Joseph Allen Basham and his mother was Sarah Frances Dowell. His paternal grandparents were George Dowell Basham and Susan M. Campbell. He had five brothers and nine sisters, named Nathaniel S., Mikel (Mike), William Henry, John, Andrew Jefferson (Andy), Mary Elizabeth, Bennie Ellen (Beanie), Sallie Ann, Paulina "Linnie", Susan Morris, Margaret, Allie Jane, Nora Margaret (Maggie) and Evelyn (Eva). He was the fifth youngest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 75 on August 4th, 1952 in Cloverport, Breckenridge Co., Ky.1 General Notes
