Sylvester Basham 
Sylvester was born about 1822 in Virginia.1 Sylvester's father was Nathaniel Basham and his mother was Elender (Ellen) Ross. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Basham and Winna Jons; his maternal grandparents are John Ross and Elenor Mitchell. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John Floyd, Benjamin, Hillory H., Ellis L., Cena, Eleanor and Mary E.. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died on January 28th, 1869 in Franklin Co., Virginia.1 General Notes
