Roy Sanford was born on May 2nd, 1907 in Knox City, Knox Co., Texas.1 Roy Sanford's father was James Henry Basham and his mother was Mary Jane Veal. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson, Sr. Basham and Sarah Frances Renfro. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jess (Twin), Dill Bryan, James 'Webster', Delbert, Ernest 'Fay', Rosie Lee, Bessie (Twin), Sallie Isabell (Sarah), Jesse Ann and Ruth B.. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 58 on July 2nd, 1965 in Boise City, Cameron Co., Oklahoma.1 General Notes
