Richard D. was born on October 16th, 1858 in Georgia Or Alabama.1 Richard D.'s father was Harry Reed (Harvey) Basham and his mother was Sarah Belue. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth Hogan. He had five brothers named Henry M., Abe, Mary, Frank and Ira. He had two half-brothers named Edward Dellie and Prince E..
