Owen Gardner was born on March 31st, 1890 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 Owen Gardner's father was Nathaniel S. Basham and his mother was Eliza Jennie Roberts. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Allen Basham and Sarah Frances Dowell; his maternal grandparents were John B. Roberts and Susan Basham. He had two sisters named Georgia D. and Mattie N..
