John Vollie Basham 
John Vollie was born on July 7th, 1924 in Butler Co., Kentucky.1 John Vollie's father was Samuel 'Green' Basham and his mother was Alta Florence (Altie) Lemasters. His paternal grandparents were Benajah Anderson Basham and Nancy E. Turner. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Millard Thomas, James Marion, Samuel Green (Sam), Charles Frank, Living, Minnie Pearl, Urline B. and Living. He had seven half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William Henry (Evans), Riley Palestine (Tiny), Lonnie Valentine, Edward Calvin, Morgan Mayberry, Velmer, Tony Bedford, Mary Isbell, Ellen Paradine, Nellie Caroline and Bennie Jane. He died at the age of 45 on September 22nd, 1969.1 General Notes
