Joel Hardin Basham 
Joel Hardin was born on March 24th, 1838 in Union Star, Breckenridge Co., Ky.1 Joel Hardin's father was Francis (Frank) Basham and his mother was Thursia HARDIN. His paternal grandparents were Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Hardin and Alice (Alsey) Jolly. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Daniel Hardin, Henry Washington, Celia Dowell, Richard B., Sarah Abigail, Francis Marion, Jacob D., Cassandra Hardin and Alice (Alsey) Jolly. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 57 on March 17th, 1896 in Audubon Co., IA.1 General Notes
