Jasper Newton Basham 
Jasper Newton was born on January 12th, 1844 in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., Ark.1 Jasper Newton's father was Solomon Basham and his mother was Elizabeth Coffey Marler. His paternal grandparents are Richard Basham and Unknown Wife. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named Coffey Jones, John Marion, James Franklin, Solomon II, Columbus C., William Riley, Thomas Jefferson, Sr., Henry William, Cynthia, Infant Daughter 1, Susan, Infant Daughter 2, America (Mary) and Infant Daughter 3. He was the fourth youngest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 76 on September 21st, 1920 in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., Ark.1 General Notes

Jasper Newton and Mary Easter were married in a religious ceremony about 1868.1 They had five sons and a daughter, named Edwin L., Thomas J., George (Monroe) W, Robert Lee, Loranzo and Mahala (Hallie).
