James Jasper Basham 
James Jasper was born on May 25th, 1849 in Monroe Co., Mississippi.1 James Jasper's father was William Farmer Basham and his mother was Mary Mandeville Webb. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Basham and Elizabeth Hogan; his maternal grandparents are Jake Webb and Elizabeth Williams. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, William J., Parker Washington, Edwin, Riley Farmer, Irene and Mary Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 81 on July 19th, 1930 in Hamilton, Monroe Co., Mississippi.1 General Notes
