His paternal grandparents were Eli Houston Basham and Nancy Melvina Fitzeleanor McCoy. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Gerald Eli, Junior Wetzel, Austin Barlow, Clara Miram, Lena May and Hazel Marie. He had five half-brothers named James Edward, Robert Lee, Infant Son, Letha Nadine and Living. He died about 1921 in Brunswick Missouri Farm Cem.1 General Notes
