Henry Joseph (Hal) was born on September 22nd, 1895 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Arkansas.1 Henry Joseph (Hal)'s father was Henry Jonathan Basham and his mother was Mary Jane Johnston. His paternal grandparents were Joseph P. Basham and Sarah A. Bell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Marshall A., Frank Wesley, Ivan Alta and Sally. He was the youngest of the five children.
