George Morten was born on August 30th, 1913 in Grayson Co., Kentucky.1 George Morten's father was George Huston Basham and his mother was Mary Martha (Mae) Thomas. His paternal grandparents were George W. Basham and Barbara A (Polly) Crutchelow. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Bailey Edwin, Ben (Earl), Jesse Thomas, Mary Frances, Virginia Raye and Aline Hazel. He is the third youngest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Sheridan R (Sherdie), Audie J., Floyd E. and Gertie Lee.General Notes
