Coffey Jones was born on April 25th, 1827 in Giles Co., Tennessee.1 Coffey Jones' father was Solomon Basham and his mother was Elizabeth Coffey Marler. His paternal grandparents are Richard Basham and Unknown Wife. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named John Marion, James Franklin, Solomon II, Columbus C., William Riley, Jasper Newton, Thomas Jefferson, Sr., Henry William, Cynthia, Infant Daughter 1, Susan, Infant Daughter 2, America (Mary) and Infant Daughter 3. He was the second oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 88 on April 21st, 1916 in Purmela, Coryell Co., Texas.
