Catherine (Katy) was born about 1767 in Virginia.1 Catherine (Katy)'s father was Jeremiah Basham and her mother was Mary Dowell. Her paternal grandparents were William Basham and Sarah (Agness) Angel; her maternal grandparents are Littleberry Dowell and Mary Drury. She had a brother named Nathan.
