Obituary of Bobby Armstrong
Bobby Armstrong Sr., 56, Sand Springs, died Sunday, Jan 5, 1992, in S
t. M ary's Hospital in Lubbock after a short illness.
Services were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Myers & Smith Funeral Chapel wi
th t he Rev. Elwin Collum, pastor, First Baptist Church in Coahoma officat
in g. Burial was in Trinity Memoraial Park under the direction of Mye
rs a nd Smith Funeral Home.
He was born January 11, 1935, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He had been a re
si dent of Howard County since 1950. He married Jean Hallford, on Septe
mb er 1, 1956, in Big Spring. He served as a Big Spring Police Offic
er fr om 1962 until 1968 and went into construction work. He was current
ly a tr uck driver with Enron Oil Trading and Transportation Compan
y. he was a ve teran of the Korean War, serving in the army. He was a me
mber of the Vete rans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Forty and Eigh
t. He was a Bapti st.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Armstrong, Sand Springs; three sons: R
ic hard of the home, Bobby R. Armstrong, Jr., and Danny Armstrong, bo
th of B ig Spring; two daughters: Sherri Daniels, Big Spring and Mickey Pa
yne, Sa nd Springs; his mother Dorothy Armstrong, Sand Springs; one brothe
r, Charl es Armstrong, Sand Springs; two sisters: Pauline Baker, Big Sprin
g, and An ita Johnson, Ruidoso, NM; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Morris Pruitt, Frank Mulkey, John Ezell, J.S. Medin
a, Je rry Bradberry and Larry Jobe.
Honorary pallbearers were all Enron empoyees.
