John Calhoun Allen 
John Calhoun was born in 1795 in Campbell Co., Kentucky.1 John Calhoun's father was Hiram Allen and his mother is Mary Ann Susanna Unknown. His paternal grandparents were John Benjamin Allen and Sarah Jane Sommers. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Unknown, Nesbett, James W., Unknown, Sarah, Mary and Rebecca Alcy. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 73 in 1868 in Lufkin, Angelina Co., Texas.1 General Notes
