Elizabeth was born in 1313 in Chilham Castle, Badlesmere, Kent, England.  Elizabeth's father was Bartholomew De Badlesmere and her mother was Margaret De Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were Guncelin De Badlesmere and Joan Fitzbernard; her maternal grandparents were Thomas De Clare and Juliane Fitzmaurice. She had two sisters named Margery and Maud.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died at the age of 43 on June 8th, 1356 in Richmond Palace, Surrey, England.  She was buried in Black Friars, London, England.

‌Elizabeth and Edmund were married in a religious ceremony on June 27th, 1316 in Earnwood, Shropshire, England.  They had a son named Roger.
