Her paternal grandparents were James Harvey MAYNARD and Sena Jane PERRY; her maternal grandparents were Absalom T. FINLEY and Malinda E. ADKINS. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Jay C., Jesse D., Rinda, Romaine, Katherine, Addie and Emma Jo. She was the oldest of the eight children.
