William Melton Elkins 
William Melton was born on May 4th, 1814.1 William Melton's father was Abel Elkins and his mother was Polly Skaggs. His maternal grandparents were William Skaggs and Mary Simpson. He had two brothers and six sisters, named James, Abel, Rachel, Nancy, Betty, Polly, Diadema and Melvina. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 84 on November 24th, 1898 in , Green County, Kentucky, USA.1 -
