MARY CORIELL

Mrs. Mary Lemon Coriell, 90, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. C. Hayward of near Minford. She was the widow of Alfred J. Coriell. In July 1942, Mrs. Coriell suffered a fractured hip and had been bedfast since. Mrs. Coriell was born Nov. 2, 1852, in Scioto Co., a daughter of Elemuel and Rebecca Lemon. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since youth. She was married to Mr. Coriell Jan. 10, 1872, and lived in the Sunshine community until his death on April 1, 1939, when she went to reside with her daughter. Besides the daughter at whose home she died, she leaves another daughter, Mrs. Laura Merwin of Mt. Gilead, and three sons, Hayes, Walter and Lindsay Coriell, all of near Sciotoville. A son, Harvey, died in 1897. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shumway chapel, with burial under the direction of Ed Erwin.
