Edgar was born on February 14th, 1873 in Buffalo, Prince Edward, Virginia, USA.1 Edgar's father was Robert Washington BRIGHTWELL and his mother was Nannie Hill BRIGHTWELL. His paternal grandparents were Reuben BRIGHTWELL and Mary J. HILL; his maternal grandparents were Archibald R. BRIGHTWELL and Harriet HILL. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John Paul, Barnett Franklin, Rosa, Roberta Elizabeth, Camella E., Nannie Shirley and Mary. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 77 on March 9th, 1950 in Roanoke, , Virginia, USA. He was buried on March 11th, 1950 in Sherwood Burial Park, Roanoke, , Virginia.2 2 General Notes
