His paternal grandparents were Edwin or Ned BRASHEAR and Nancy WATKINS; his maternal grandparents were George Washington UPTON and Martha Elizabeth FLANDERS. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Clarence, Jack, Jesse, Grover, Winnie or Minnie, Ora, Ada, Agnes, Clara, Ruby, Emma and Daisy. He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 23 in 1906 in , Larue, Kentucky, USA.1 -
