His paternal grandparents were Robert (Sir) DE HOLLAND and Elizabeth DE SALMESBURY; his maternal grandparents were Alan Lord De Ashby LA ZOUCHE and Eleanor DE SEGRAVE. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Robert, Thomas, Margaret, Margaret, Maud*, Maud*, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
