Elizabeth DE CLARE 
Elizabeth was born on September 16th, 1295 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.1 Elizabeth's father was Gilbert (Sir) "The Red" 9Th Earl DE CLARE and her mother was Joan Of Acre PLANTAGENET. Her maternal grandparents were Edward I "Longshanks" King DE ENGLAND and Eleanor (Countess) DE CASTILE. She had four sisters named Margaret, Alianor, Eleanor (Alianore) and Elizabeth. She had a half-brother named Thomas Baron. She died at the age of 65 on November 4th, 1360.1 General Notes

0 completed the division of the estates among th heirs. Ma
ud probably died on July 2, and the properties she held i
n dower must have been partitioned shortly thereafter. Eac
h received an equal portion of her third of Kilkenny. The p
artition of the Clare estates has been
described as "the most important territorial upheaval of th
e reign."
