Elinor was born in 1551 in "Pilton Ralegh Manor"near Pilton, Devonshire, England. Elinor's father was John CHICHESTER and her mother was Gertrude COURTENAY. Her maternal grandparents were William COURTENAY and Mary GAINSFORD. She had a brother and a sister, named Edward and Urith. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 34 in July 1585. She was buried on July 10th, 1585 in Atherington, Devonshire, England.-
