Nicholas was born in 1409 in Molesford, Devon.1 Nicholas' father was Thomas CAREW and his mother was Elizabeth BONVILLE. His paternal grandparents were Leonard CAREW and Alice FITZALAN; his maternal grandparents were William BONVILLE and Margaret DAMERELL. He had a brother and a sister, named Hugh and Elizabeth.
