His paternal grandparents were Juan Faustin ROMERO and Falpita SISNEROS; his maternal grandparents were M MESTAS and Mme GARCIA. He had a brother and two sisters, named Thomas Alphonso, Virginia and Edna. He was the second oldest of the four children.
