The name Frazier originated from the French word fraize, meaning strawberries. The first written mention of the name is in conjunction with Pierre Fraiser, the ambassador to Scotland for Charlemagne in 807AD. He stayed in Scotland and became the founder of the Frazier clan.Variations on the spelling are Frazer, Fraizier, Frashur and Frishur.
There was an Alexander Frazier who was the 11th Lord of Lovet in Scotland, but it has not been proved that is was this Alexander.
