John was born about 1663 in Southold, Suffolk, New York. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named John, Samuel, Samuel, Richard Swasey Or, Joseph, Mehitable, Mary, Sarah, Abigail, Mary, Mehitabell and Sarah.  John is no longer alive.
