Royal Barney 
Royal was born on April 13th, 1783 in Guilford, Windham, Vt. Royal's father was John Barney and his mother was Ruth SHEPHARDSON. His paternal grandparents were John Barney and Rebecca Martin; his maternal grandfather was Zephaniah Shepardson. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Hiram, William, Jared, Sarah, Ruth, Lucinda, Matilda (Clotilda) and Anna. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
