Edson BARNEY 
Edson was born on January 30th, 1806 in Ellisburg, Jefferson, New York. Edson's father was Royal Barney and his mother was Rachel Marsh Barney. His paternal grandparents were John Barney and Ruth SHEPHARDSON; his maternal grandparents were James Barney and Thankful Loves Marsh. He had three brothers and a sister, named Royal A., Oremel, Schuyler P. and Philania. He was the second oldest of the five children.
