Seth was born on October 10th, 1772 in Glocester, Now Burrillville, RI. Seth's father was Peter BALLOU and his mother was Lydia PHILLIPS. His paternal grandparents were Nehemiah BALLOU and Mary HALL; his maternal grandparents were Jeremiah PHILLIPS and Martha BISHOP. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Nathan, Laban, Freelove, Mary, Patience, Eva, Joanna, Lydia, Rizpah and Sarah. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 88 in 1860 in Ostego, Allegan, MI.General Notes
