Abbess of Romsey was born about 0916.  Abbess of Romsey's father was Edward the Elder and her mother was Queen of England Ælflaeda.  Her paternal grandparents were Alfred the Great and Ealhswith (Alswitha) of the Gaini; her maternal grandparents were Ealdorman of Wiltshire Æthelhelm and Aethelgyth (Elswitha) of Mercia. She had three brothers and six sisters, named King of England, Sub King of Kent, Prince of England, Nun, Ogive Eadgina of, Æthelhilda, Ædhilda, Ædgyth and Ælfgifu.  She was the youngest of the ten children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named King of England, Edmund I "The, Abbot of Einsiedlen, King of England, Ædgyth Edith of, Princess of England and Edburga.
